Bollywood star Deepika Padukone will romance Tamil superstar Rajinikanth in his upcoming flick 'Kochadaiyaan,'.
"Deepika Padukone has been confirmed as heroine in Kochadaiyaan," film unit sources said.
Padukone had been earlier cast opposite Rajnikanth in his 'Rana,' since suspended after he fell sick on the first day of the film's sets last year.
However, the superstar's younger daughter Soundarya gave his die-hard fans, who had performed special poojas and prayers for his recovery from a reported kidney ailment, cause for cheer by announcing she would direct her father in 'Kochadaiyaan,' believed to be a period flick.
The movie has already garnered attention with its first look, a still with Rajnikanth sporting six-pack, beard and a yogi-like hairdo, setting off anticipation about the movie among cine-buffs.
The star cast of 'Kochadaiyaan,' which will be a hi-tech 3D film, reportedly includes Bollywood star Jackie Shroff, another top Tamil star R Sarath Kumar and many others.

A day after Ayesha Takia tweeted about her sister Natasha being allegedly mistreated by an airline’s personnel, the actress is still fuming and is determined to take legal action against the airline.
Making it worse was a taunting tweet by the airline owner’s son which implied he was unaware of who Ayesha Takia and what the hullaballoo she was creating was all about.
Laughing off the jibe Ayesha scoffs, “We’re getting our lawyers to send a letter to the airline to take action against their staff.The letter will reach the airline authorities shortly.I was tweeting about how the airline staff treated Natasha.I didn’t make any personal comments on anyone.So if someone has a personal grudge against me that’s his problem.”
Recounting the alleged horror that her sister went through Ayesha says, “A senior staff member of an airline at Delhi airport misbehaved with my sister. He sent her back and forth from counter to counter for four hours even when she said she was unwell. They threatened to throw her out of the airport if she kept questioning and pressurizing them for her ticket. Then they tore her boarding pass and told her to buy a new one if she wanted to fly back to Mumbai on their airline.”
Continuing with the tale of trauma Ayesha says, “Natasha had to buy a new ticket from Air India .Since she was traveling alone beyond a point, she didn’t want to deal with the rudeness of the allegedly misbehaved airline ground-staff.”
Bipasha`s Hollywood movie stalled
The actress' dream to go international comes crashing down as her film opposite Josh Hartnett is stalled for going over-budget.It was the film she was banking on to launch her international career. But looks like Bipasha Basu's Hollywood dreams have hit a roadblock as her much talked about film Singularity is stalled indefinitely.
The film, which was elaborately shot in Rajasthan last year has apparently gone Rs 80 crore over-budget putting the producers in a fix.
Says a source, "There were financial issues in the film from the very beginning. Even when they were shooting in Australia there were money problems.
They finished the first two schedules of the film and then realised that a lot more money would be required to complete the rest of the shoot. Director Roland Joffe was hoping to resume shoot soon, but now it seems impossible."
The budget of the film at the moment is over R 150 crore, which is much higher than the estimated budget. Adds the source, "Singularity is a period drama and hence a very extravagant film.

The well known love birds of Bollywood Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor better known as Saifina are ready for their upcoming onscreen project named ‘Agent Vinod’. The movie is been directed by Sriram Raghavan and thereof produced by Saif himself. It is Saif’s own production with his lady love playing the lead role.
To be very clear about the fact that it is not the remake of the 1977 action film ‘Agent Vinod’. According to the statement made by director Sriram Raghavan it is based on an original story, about a spy. He also made it clear that it is also not the remake or copycat of the Hollywood series of James Bond. The film contains a huge volume of action along with lots of thrills. The director also described it as one of the ‘Realistic Movie’. On 30th May 2010 the director reported that the official shoot of the movie had begun in Mumbai which will later on followed by Morocco and Latvia. Saif is said to be working hard with his body as his character is of a detective agent beside this Kareena (bebo) plays the secret agent role with her slim and trim features.
The journey of the movie started on 30th May 2010 with a proposal of releasing it in 2011. But the film is still under process and is set to realease in March 2012.
The music of Agent Vinod is been composed by Pritam and to be mentioned it is not yet out in the market.
Let us wait for the movie to come on screen and see whether the couple (Saifina) can show us some magic after a 50-50 performance in Tashan.

While credit must be given to writer-director Rumy Jaffery for focusing on the issue of corruption noble intentions don’t necessarily make a notable work of art. Certainly Gali Gali Chor Hai(GGCH) must have sounded amusing and topical on paper.It is a savagely stinging satire on the harassment of the average law-abiding middleclass man, played with arresting earnestness by Akshaye Khanna, in the hands of various touts, middlemen, law enforcers, goons and politicians all of whom infest the tranquil city of Bhopal with the destructive determination of termites eating into a ‘system’ that has long ceased to be if any consequence , moral or ethical.
While the script has some sparkling vignettes and scenes taken from the portrait of a common man trapped in the wheels of a fluctuating fortune, the treatment of the theme of corruption is staid, prosaic uninspiring and frequently bland. The screenplay unfolds in segments and episodes that could belong to a long-running government-sponsored serial on Doordarshan, made with the express purpose of cleaning the bureaucracy’s image.
Lamentably, for all his sincerity, Akshay Khanna’s Bharat remains clueless about what the script hopes to achieve by showing the character running in and out of police stations and court premises, except to project the helplessness of the common man into a script that seeks to desperately extract creative juices out of the bourgeois desperation which has baffled, bewildered, frustrated and destroyed the under-privileged classes the world over.
Sadly the satire doesn’t evoke any empathy for the common hero of this film who is sucked into the vicious vortex of bribery and palm-greasing for no seeming reason except his political innocence.Like Shyam Benegal’s last satirical outing Well Done, Abba this film forgets to oil its joints which creak in protest each time the hero shrieks in protest.
The problem with Jaffrey’s film is its dry almost clinical treatment of the theme of corruption and the Common Man. While the ambience, characters and the plight of our hero Bharat seem authentic, the languid movement of the story suggests a far less involving sequence of events than what we set out to witness when we sat down for a film.
Don’t rub your hands in anticipation when you sit down to watch this ode to corruption.In Singham the slap sounded far more musical to the ears.Yes, there are stray amusing moments in GGCH. But by the time Bharat’s slap on the face of the ‘system’ occurs it’s a case of too little, too late.
And what on earth is that item song with Veena Malik lighting up her vital statistics with Christmas bulbs. A symbol of the common man’s dream gone bust?
Sorry,but the original Bharat, Manoj Kumar did the anti-corruption theme much more interestingly in Roti Kapada Aur Makaan. You have to bribe the audience to watch the characters getting high on the anti-corruption theme of this film.

Mahie Gill will play a socialite who has an affair with a male prostitute
They may have only just finished a film together -- Sahib Bibi Aur Gangster -- with a sequel in the pipeline, but Randeep Hooda and Mahie Gill have been signed up together for another film.
This one, titled Mayanagari is based on popular Hindi novelist Surendra Varma's Do Murdon Ke Liye Guldasta and will be made by Satish Kaushik.
While Hooda, along with actor Prashant Narayanan, (who earlier essayed a psychopath in Murder 3), will play two migrants living in Mumbai, Gill will play a rich socialite who starts an affair with both actors.
In the film, Narayanan will play the role of a gangster, and Hooda, a male prostitute. According to sources, Hooda is leaving no stone unturned in his attempt to get his performance correct. He has reportedly even met male prostitutes in Mumbai to prepare.
When contacted, Kaushik confirmed the casting of the film. He also said, "Mayanagari will focus on the seamy side of a migrant's life. Randeep's role is something never attempted before (in Bollywood). So far, our films have only focused on female prostitution."
Dilip Shukla, who earlier wrote Dabangg, is writing the script of the film.
